In this episode, I explain why I sent back to a Gen 3, Glock 34 for a competition gun. Also, in today’s world, we need to become adaptive in order to survive.

Recently, while practicing speed shooting at the range and filming videos, I used my M&P 2.0 compact 9mm. So I decided to discuss that experience and all about this fine pistol.

Most defensive handgun uses are in low light or at night time. However, few people practice shooting at night. Back in July 2012, Roger Phillips was my guest to discuss this topic. I think you’ll find it a good topic to listen to again.

It’s an ordinary episode about what I’ve learned after doing 300 episodes over the past 5+ years. First I thank each and every one of you for listening and staying with me this long. This show has some opinion, but again, it’s what I’ve learned, wrong or right. Hope you enjoy it.

CR Williams is my guest on this episode. He’s recently written a book about gunfighting. We discussed some excellent topics such as the emotional orientation to a gunfight, actual techniques such as the draw stroke, use of the long gun in self defense, why having a John Wayne attitude isn’t all bad, what they’re not telling you about point shooting, fighting inside of your house, long range shooting with a handgun, dry fire practice and whether or not you can buy accuracy! In other words, is accuracy king?

It’s often said that most gunfights happen at night or in low light. Yet most people don’t train in low light situations regularly. If all you do is practice in daylight, how will you be confident enough to hit your target if, God forbid, your attacked at night? So, Roger Phillips is my guest on this episode to discuss this subject. He teaches a lot of low light and night fighting courses. This episode will probably make you re-think a few things about how you practice and what gear you choose for your handgun.

“They do not know, what they do not know.” That’s the unfortumate status of the naysayers of point shooting. In this episode, Roger Phillips joins me for part 2 of our point shooting dicsussion. Back in Episode 150 he laid down the ground work for the point shooting discussion. This episode is a continuation. We discuss subjects like low light point shooting, keys to a reactive gunfight, hand eye coordination and a lot more. It will probably make you less concerned about the sights on your handgun and more concerned about improving your ability to shoot it. Links will be posted on the GRRN forum. Thanks for downloading and listening.

Roger Phillips of Suarez International is my guest on this episode. We discuss point shooting. This is the first time I’ve ever done a show on point shooting and I thought it would be fitting to start this subject with Episode 150. Roger does an excellent job of explaining the art of point shooting. I’ve heard nothing but awesome things about his point shooting classes and intend to take on in February 2012. If you’re really serious about defending yourself with a handgun, you should learn to point shoot. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do 150 episodes! I’m looking forward to 150 more! Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show
