This week’s subject is about red dot optics on pistols. My guest is Jack Rumbaugh from Suarez International with a good discussion about this topic and why they make a lot of sense on a concealed carry pistol. We also talk about…sudden jihad syndrome?

OK, we believe in carrying guns because it’s our American right and also because it will keep us and our families safer. Now, think of this, you’re attacked on the street when it’s dark or low light. Or your home is invaded and it’s dark inside your home. Have you used your gun in darkness? The Dark of The Night is much different. Listen to this episode to learn how and what you can do about it. Ben Branam from the Modern Self Protection podcast is my guest.

AR Pistols are easy to conceal and powerful. So I invited Glen Tate on the show to discuss how they can fit into your defensive needs. This episode also starts with an interview of a listener named Brad, at the shooting range on different pistols of mine that he shot for the first time.

Due to the ammo shortage and high pricing, I’ve decided to start practicing and training more with .22lr. So I recently purchased 2 conversion kits. One for my Glock and one for my AR-15. This episode is a review of both kits and the reason behind purchasing them.

It’s often said that most gunfights happen at night or in low light. Yet most people don’t train in low light situations regularly. If all you do is practice in daylight, how will you be confident enough to hit your target if, God forbid, your attacked at night? So, Roger Phillips is my guest on this episode to discuss this subject. He teaches a lot of low light and night fighting courses. This episode will probably make you re-think a few things about how you practice and what gear you choose for your handgun.

Recently I shot a tactical carbine match with Texas Tactical in San Antonio. It was my first time shooting a carbine match with my AR-15. So I took my recorder along and recorded some stage descriptions, recaps and you’ll hear some of the experience during the match. You’ll hear what type of AR that I used and what modifications I’ve done to it and why I think it’s important to participate in matches like this with your long guns. Even a Ruger 10-22! Also, at the end you’ll hear an audio clip from a listener about 1911’s and the original torture test and what was said in my 1911 podcast a couple weeks ago. Modifying your handgun is something almost every handgun owner decides to do. Many experts in the field of self defense and the legalities of doing so, recommend not modifying your carry gun. Especially the trigger. Sights are the most common modification. Whether you have a 1911 or a polymer wonder, or a SIG, Beretta, Taurus or whatever, it seems as though there’s so much talk and decision making that goes into the modification of one’s handgun. Even revolver shooters tend to favor trigger jobs. In this episode I start with responding to a few listener emails, then get into an interview with Steve Zopfi about trigger modifications. We don’t talk much about competition shooting, mostly we discussed modifying carry guns. He discusses his STI and his Glock. So thanks for downloading and listening and links can be found at the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show
