CR Williams is my guest on this episode. He’s recently written a book about gunfighting. We discussed some excellent topics such as the emotional orientation to a gunfight, actual techniques such as the draw stroke, use of the long gun in self defense, why having a John Wayne attitude isn’t all bad, what they’re not telling you about point shooting, fighting inside of your house, long range shooting with a handgun, dry fire practice and whether or not you can buy accuracy! In other words, is accuracy king?

I treat my gun collection as if it’s a bunch of survival tools. I believe in being prepared. Not only with firearms but in all areas of my life. A mixed bag of gun talk is all I could think of to title this podcast. While driving I share some thoughts I have about pistol caliber carbines, sights, belts, holsters, ammo, 20 gauge shotguns, survival guns and more. Shotguns are one of the most versatile weapons you can own.  In my opinion, every family should have one.  Even if you live in an area where handguns are not allowed, shotguns probably are.  They are one of the most formidable man stoppers inside of 25 yards that are commonly available and affordable.  In this episode I discuss the advantages and disadvantages of shotguns, their usefulness and what to watch out for when adding accessories, etc.

LET ME ADD:  The very idea of being able to chamber a round and the “chunk chunk” sound of the pump shotgun being enough to make the bad guy pee his pants and run away…is preposterous!  That’s a myth that simply isn’t true.  If the bad guy is stung out on drugs, a noise certainly isn’t going to stop him.  So consider that fact that you will likely have to shoot your shotgun, no matter what action type it is.
