2 fellow shooters joined me at the shooting range recently and we talked afterwards. One is from Serbia and the other is from Southern California. Both now live in the gun friendly state of Texas. You will hear their perspective of what happened at the Real World Gun match at Dallas pistol club and how it has helped them improve their shooting skills and self defense gun handling techniques. I also cover some more listener feedback. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like for a new shooter to get started I think you will enjoy this show. This isn’t really a full episode so that’s why it’s called Episode 106b. But today I had the opportunity to shoot the new Kimber Solo Carry 9mm pocket pistol. I rate this gun a 7. You’ll hear my thoughts on why I didn’t give it a 9 or 10. In my opinion it has some strange features that I believe are weaknesses but also has some very nice features, especially the trigger. Episode 107 will be posted by next Monday.

More discussion on rental guns. After going to the range with James Kimmerle, I did an interview with him. We discussed our thoughts about a Glock .357Sig, FN 9mm and Beretta PX4 sub compact 9mm. At the beginning of the show I cover some information on a recent back up gun match I shot with my P380. We also discussed James’ new High Noon Public Secret left handed holster for his PX4. We also spent some time discussing the Tucson shooting and why the anti gunners and media have it all wrong. I also make an announcement about a new fund raising effort for the 2nd Amendment foundation. I also got around to answering a backlog of listener questions and feedback on Taurus guns, the importance of training and a lot more. This show was recorded long before the tragic shooting in Arizona. Next week I will have some comments about that and dedicate part of the show to that subject. We discuss one handed shooting, shooting around barricades, stance and chapter 4 of Brian Enos’ book, “Practical shooting beyond fundamentals” and a lot more. This is part one of the interview.
