The 1911 pistol is arguably the most popular gun in the world, just by the number of people who own one. Recently several listeners have asked me to talk more about 1911’s. Since I don’t own any 1911’s right now, I decided to interview someone who owns a lot of them and has shot thousands and thousands of rounds through 1911’s. Jon Hodoway shares is valuable insights and thoughts about owning, shooting, carrying and competing with 1911 pistols. We talked about the grip safety issue, the thumb safety and capacity features and even some history as to how and why Jon Browning designed the 1911 pistol. Every shooting competition has a set of rules and by laws that they adhere to. However, there are inconsistencies in the way they are written and enforced. In this episode, Steve and Rick from the Powerfactor Show interview with me and we discuss how we would change the rules of IDPA and USPSA if we were in charge.
