This past weekend I shot a competition match and deliberately shot it defensively, rather than playing the game. You can do this, or play the game for the best score and omit some critical defensive shooting skills. However, learning to shoot fast and accurately, is vital in a self defense situation and you’ll get that in competition shooting.
