This episode does not have one single topic. A couple of listeners called in some voice mails about 1911’s and a close call with a potential bad guy. Then Ben Branam and I discussed guns we want to purchase, tactical pens, holsters and training. So between my answers to the voice mails and the interview with Ben, it turned into a mixed bag of topics. Links can be found on the GRRN forum. Thanks for listening. Do you carry a gun in your vehicle? In some states it’s legal, yet laws differ from state to state. In some states it’s not legal. But for those of you who can carry a gun in your vehicle, you’ll find this podcast a collection of ideas you may want to try. Keep in mind, this is what works for me. Depending on what kind of vehicle you drive makes a huge difference. But there are definitely some vehicle carry methods I don’t like, so I talk about those as well. Also, this podcast includes an excellent voice mail from a listener in Sanford, Florida. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast

CCW discussion seems to center around ammo, compact and subcompact guns, holsters, belts and magazines. So this episode has a little of all of these in it. I interviewed Jason Christensen and Un-named Trucker. Jason is the owner of Concealment Solutions and Un-named trucker is from the Roadgunner Podcast. We discussed the SIG 1911 that trucker is carrying, the new Sidewinder holster that Jason is making, the .357SIG round and even some airsoft gun discussion. I also had a chance to speak to Herman Gunter from the Pro Arms team recently and although that conversation is not on this podcast, I talk about some of that discussion regarding .357SIG and .40 caliber guns.  Thanks for downloading and listening and congratulations to the winners of my Shooter’s Club Podcast drawing! Merry Christmas to you and your family, the next show will be on Monday December 26, 2011. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show

Many listeners have sent me some excellent questions and feedback over the past several weeks. So this episode is all about you and your comments and questions. I discuss issues such as weapon mounted lights, TV Gun shows, IDPA, practice techniques, dry fire practice, 1,000 round trigger jobs, safety briefings, a personal experience with new shooters and a lot more. I’ve received quite a few emails asking me, “what is a 1,000 round trigger job?” First, let me say, I didn’t make that up. I read it somewhere on a forum and can’t remember where, but I’m sure that expression has been used before. So during the first segment, I’ll answer in detail what I mean by that. Trigger jobs are one of the most talked about modifications on a handgun, yet it seems like some people spend too much money on them and don’t get a good enough benefit. Most decent quality guns have triggers that can be mastered with enough practice. That’s my main point, but listen for more details. During segment 2, I respond to my backlog of listener emails. Please keep them coming, I will get to most of them. Links can be found on the GRRN forum. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show

This week I answer a lot of very good emails regarding concealed carry, handgun modifications, gun control, training and defensive handgun tactics. Also, a listener submitted an excellent audio clip and Levi Myatt from All Temp Tactical Lube, joins me for an interview regarding his new firearm lubricant. Please keep the emails coming and the audio clips coming too. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show

Concealed carry in an unconventional manner is the subject of this episode. I received an audio clip from a listener named Pablo in New Mexico about a unique method of carrying his Glock 26. It’s pretty interesting, you’ll hear that first. Then, Jason Christensen of Concealment Solutions joins me for a discussion about his holsters and also some unique methods of concealed carry. As usual, I also discuss some listener emails and feedback. So thanks for downloading and listening and links can be found on the GRRN forum. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show

This week is a mixed bag again, because I didn’t really have only one single topic, so I combined a few topics into one show. You’ll hear a rebuttal from un-named trucker regarding my review of the Glock 26 a few weeks ago. Then Al Vennemeyer from Stealth Defense Holsters joins me again for a follow up from a few weeks ago. I also discuss the oppressive Maryland gun laws and why they really don’t allow concealed carry. Generation 4 Glocks are also a topic of this show. Also many thanks to Jason at Concealment Solutions for adding an extra giveaway to my fundraiser. Links can be found on the GRRN forum. A little over a week ago I took Suarez International’s Close Range Gunfighting course in Dallas. Many listeners were there to train with me. It was intense and taught us about the defensive mindset and how to safely and efficiently use our gun to stop the situation if it ever got to that point. So I decided to record a little bit of what happened at the course. I interviewed other students and also had a chance to record our instructor discuss the significant points of the class. Short of actually being there, this recording should help you share the experience. Please try to get to one of these classes. I think it’s a wise investment if you carry a gun and plan to use it as a defensive tool. We cover after action assessments, SUL, shooting with both hands and a lot more. Thanks for listening. I will post links related to this show on the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum. Thanks for listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show.

Al Vennemeyer, owner of Stealth Defense Strut Holsters, Inc., joins me as my guest. We discuss his new holster design and why he feels it solves some problems that concealed carry sometimes presents. He sent me one for T&E, so I will carry it for a few weeks and let you know what I think. Also, I shot an IDPA match at Cross Timbers IDPA recently and shot quite well, but made a critical error. It didn’t cost me much but it could have. So the first segment I recap that particular stage for you. I’ve also included some responses to listeners questions and emails in segment 3. Recently I had the chance to receive some sample holsters from High Noon Holsters. They sent them to me for review. After nearly a month of using them, I have decided to share my thoughts. They are excellent holsters. If you’re looking for a good leather holster you really need to give High Noon Holsters strong consideration. I will discuss things like ruff side out, sight tracks, reverse J Clips, reinforced mouths and the excellent High Noon belt for concealed carry. Many thanks to Alex at High Noon Holsters for giving me this opportunity. A follow up YouTube video will be coming shortly so I can put into pictures what I say on this show. I carried my Glock 19 and my Kahr PM9 for nearly a month in these holsters. One was the Alter Ego and the other was the Hideaway. I carried them appendix carry and even shot IDPA with the Alter Ego carried behind the hip. Listen carefully and you will hear my thoughts. Next week, Gabe Suarez will be one of my guests. If you have questions you would like me to ask him, please email them to me by this Friday, 15th. I’m also making another special announcement on this show, so thanks for listening. Too much discussion takes place about guns and shooting equipment that really doesn’t matter too much. What I mean by that is that it doesn’t help your ability to shoot and defend yourself too much. My guest, Jon Hodoway, on this show really makes this point quite nicely. He also recently won the Central Florida Tactical Conference shooting match. He’s also a firearms trainer for the Massad Ayoob Group. Among other topics such as Glocks that sometimes jam, range rental guns, how to test a gun, and the Ron Avery drill, we spend quite a bit of time talking about the less than important stuff that internet ninja’s and internet commandos spend a lot of time on. You may find yourself asking the question, what should I really do to improve my defensive shooting skills? I think you will find that answer in this podcast. – Bob Mayne, Handgun World Show

So much good feedback and questions have been sent to me in the past few weeks. I really appreciate it, so in this episode I get caught up on quite a bit of my backlog of emails. This show includes information about High Noon Holsters, the Kel Tec PLR-16, Texas Gun Talk forums, stopping power, Center Axis Relock, testing handguns and more. Most of this show is contributed by people on the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum and emails sent to me recently. I consider this a show produced by the listeners. I’m just the host and the guy that puts it together. Thanks for listening and safe shooting! Bob Mayne – HandgunWorld Show

2 fellow shooters joined me at the shooting range recently and we talked afterwards. One is from Serbia and the other is from Southern California. Both now live in the gun friendly state of Texas. You will hear their perspective of what happened at the Real World Gun match at Dallas pistol club and how it has helped them improve their shooting skills and self defense gun handling techniques. I also cover some more listener feedback. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like for a new shooter to get started I think you will enjoy this show. They shot their carry guns and give listeners a unique perspective on what that’s like too. Please remember to join me at the GRRN forum and my YouTube Channel.  Also, I am donating 1/2 of the proceeds from my “Shooter’s Club” CD/Digital download to the Second Amendment Foundation, now through March 15th.
