Good feedback and comments sent to me lately, so I start with some of my own comments and thank you’s. For the main segment, part 2 of my interview with Steve Zopfi. Some of this is a repeat of Episode 93 but not all of it, I left some of it out of the last show, now it’s included in this show. Steve and I do our best not to make this just a competitive shooting episode. We tie it into self defense techniques also.

Selecting a rifle for defense is just as hard as selecting a handgun.  It’s highly unlikely that citizens in the U.S. will have to use their rifle to fend off zombies, but for the rare situation that would require the use of a rifle, I discuss what to look for,  what common choices there are, what ammo types are out there and why you may want to choose them.

Modifying your handgun can be tricky and it’s not easy to do without compromising reliability.  In this episode I’ll discuss what types of modifications I do to my carry pistols and competition pistols.  As I’ve mentioned, I’m not a  gunsmith, but I have learned a few things through trial and error and that’s what I’ll share with you.

  • No one handgun fits every person or shooter. Like height and waist size, hand size and individual finger length vary greatly.  What to do about that.
  • Changing the grips.
  • Changing the magazine release button.
  • Changing the slide release lever.
  • Magazine wells.
  • Recommended gunsmiths.
