just wanted to thank you for the great podcasts. please keep them coming. I think you should mention that if one keeps their pump shotgun loaded they should not keep a shell in the chamber, as it could possibly fire if the gun is inadvertantly knocked over. It doesn’t matter if the safety is on or not, as the firing pin doesn’t have a safety. I think that this is true of all pump shotguns. if not, please correct me. also, the sound of racking a shell into place is a universally recognized sound and it may all by itself be all that is needed to end the encounter. (hopefully) Of course, you can’t count on that, but it is possible. again, thanks, and keep up the good work

Tim, thanks you are correct, so let me state now, do not leave a shell in the chamber of your shotgun if the safety is not engaged! I keep my Remington 870 loaded but not chambered. The racking of a shotgun is the universal language for “get the heck out of here” and it is intimidating.

Thanks for your positive feedback. Also, check out my podcasts on modern survival and self sufficiency ideas to live a more secure life at http://www.todayssurvival.com

I will post a new handgunworld episode this week.
    Thanks,
    Bob Mayne

Whatever you’re doing, it isn’t working as far as accessing the podcast in itunes.

Subscribing in itunes, and it looks for the list of available episodes here:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/HandgunWorldPodcast
And only the first two episodes are listed.

Then, to add insult to injury, the audio files for those two episodes are not where that listing points to.
Episode 2 is not being found at:
    http://www.handgunworld.com/podpress_trac/feed/40/0/handgunworldepisode2.mp3
And Ep 1 is not being found at:
    http://www.handgunworld.com/podpress_trac/feed/31/0/handgunworldepisode1.mp3

By the way, I like the answer to why you carry. That’s a nice way to characterize the issue.

Jason, there is a problem with my itunes feed, not sure what it is. I’m working on it. I’ll post Episode 5 soon and let’s see if that comes through correctly, thanks.

By the way, if using an ipod or mp3 player you can always click the download link and save it to your itunes library or hard drive on PC to transfer to your device…until I get everything fixed with the feed. Thanks,

OK, I think I just fixed up the iTunes problem, but had to re-submit it, so wait a day or so and search “Handgun World Show” on iTunes, then subscribe and download, should work fine.

You can subscribe on this site now, if you wish by clicking the subscribe button if you use another reader besides iTunes. Thanks for your patience and for listening, hope you enjoy today’s show!
