What happens when someone shoots a Glock for the first time and when someone shoots a Beretta for the first time? Tune in to find out. James and I went to a Fort Worth shooting range. There’s a lot of talk about the grip angle of a Glock and the DA/SA trigger of a Beretta being difficult to shoot. We tried our best to do some myth busting. It’s not a scientific test, but at least an attempt to show what first time shooters of each gun can experience. James shot my Glock 19 and I shot his Beretta PX4 subcompact.

I just listened to your recent episode with the review of the PX4 storm subcompact and it was good to hear some positive comments in the review, especially coming from Glock owner.
I’ve always had a preference for 1911’s, preferably the Kimber Ultra CDP II, but this little 9mm subcompact is an excellent sidearm. I’ve owned mine for almost a year now and whether this weapon is your main one or backup, it’s a great little firearm that has been very reliable for me.
Once again, keep up the good work with the podcasts.

That was a good review of the PX4. I agree with you on your assessment that it is rather thick. It is possible to carry it with an IWB holster but it’s not as comfy as a single stack. I bought and use the PX4 as my primary carry weapon for the main reason it has a safety and carries a respectable 13+1 rounds. It is just my preference and philosophy which obviously is different from yours. I’m not saying I’m right or wrong, but it’s just different. Unlike a safe-action type of trigger the Px4 requires a considerable amount of practice to develop the muscle memory to quickly and effectively use the safety and DA/SA. With he safety on it’s not intuitive like other “point and shoot” guns so if, in the rare event, I get disarmed by an untrained malefactor I have a few precious extra moments of fight or flee. Anyhow, good article. Keep up the good work.
