For my 223rd episode I decided to dedicate it to the .223/5.56 cartridge and the AR-15 rifle. Jon Hodoway of Nighthawk Custom Training joins me to discuss the history of the .223 and the use of it as a home defense weapon, hunting and it’s ballistics.

Thanks Bob… this podcast pointed out some very good reasons to stay away from 223 sized rifles. I had my doubts about them and their size. This podcast confirmed for me the fact it is too small to make an effective rifle for what I have in mind. I don’t own any AR style rifles yet but when I do, 223 will not be the caliber I will choose.

Bob I really enjoyed this episode with Jon Hodoway. The part where Jon presented the historical evolution of the AR platform was fascinating. Thanks so much for the great podcast!
