Based on Mike Briggs’ article in Handgunsmag.com.  We’ve all heard practicing with your gun is just as important as the gun itself and the ammo you use.  In this show, I discuss 10 reasons why I feel that IDPA is excellent practice.    While it’s not a replacement for good fighting and combat training, there are many benefits from regularly shooting at your local IDPA club.  It’s not very expensive either.

Thanks for listening,

Bob Mayne

I appreciated your insights into the IDPA subject, but I find it inexcusable to plagiarize anther’s work. While you did add your own thoughts and ideas to the topic, you blatantly used the article from Mike Briggs in Handguns magazine to come to your “10 reasons to shoot IDPA” without so much as giving credit to the true author and often time quoting verbatim from his work. If you can’t come up with your own material, at least have the decency to cite you source. Here is the REAL article for interested parties, http://www.handgunsmag.com/tactics_training/idpa_092905/index.html

Let me first say thank you for listening and your comment. I made a mistake. Although I did use Mike’s article as the basis for this episode, I did add my own material, but the mistake I made was not quoting the source. I just corrected that mistake by changing the posting to reflect that the source was Mike Briggs’ article. I have recorded 18 episodes thus far. Most of the time, I either write my own material or use other’s as a basis, but add my own twist or add my own material to reflect my opinion. Changing the material to make it your own, is not plagiarism. I’ve been shooting IDPA a long time and frankly agree with most of Mike’s article. So I felt it necessary to share it with my listeners. “A mistake is not a problem unless you fail to correct it” – John F. Kennedy. So I just corrected it. Thanks again for listening and for your comment and safe shooting!
