Do you live in an apartment? I think it changes the game as far as home defense and what gun you might choose. So this episode is dedicated to those living in apartments and what you might want to think about. Also, if you’re shopping for a gun safe, I discuss that too.

A very large number of citizens who defend their life with a gun, do so in low light or night time conditions. Yet, due to range availability, most people practice and train in daylight. It’s a completely different world, shooting at night and incorporating a flashlight or weapon mounted light while shooting. It’s also tough to identify your target. This episode is about using lights, night sights, red dot optics and more, in low light and night time shooting.

Ben Branam discusses how to properly rack the slide on a semi auto pistol. A lot of new shooters have difficulties with this. Especially new shooters who are women who don’t have a lot of hand strength. Even some men don’t properly rack the slide even though they have plenty of strength. Some even cause malfunctions by doing it incorrectly.

Last weekend I hosted Roger Phillips’ class “Point Shooting Progressions.” Wow! What a huge game changer! Never again will I put such an importance on sights on a handgun. I’m not saying they aren’t necessary, but they are far less important now. We were literally making quality hits out to 11 yards without using sights. One student lost his front sight on the 2nd day and finished the class with no front sight! He still made very good hits and was quite accurate without his front sight. Some trainers dismiss the validity of point shooting and go so far as to call it a fraud. I say, “Those who say it can’t be done, should quit bothering those of us who are doing it.” This is a review of the course.

With the big election coming up, I decided to do a topic I rarely discuss…politics. Mark Vanderberg, executive producer of the Gun Rights Radio Network is my first guest to talk about voting and how the election can affect right gun rights. Then Jon Payne joins me to discuss marksmanship with a handgun and some steps you can take to improve your accuracy.  Thanks for listening.
