    Open carry does not always deter people. Especially motivated and clever criminals.

    As far as lights go…spot on. 2 is 1, and the weapon mounted doesn’t count as one of the two. Practice with handhelds.

    Rogers and modified Rogers technique offer two handed control.

    Also…my buddy and I discuss/practice this. If a malfunction or a reload is causing problems…let that light hit the deck, or hang from a lanyard, or throw it in your teeth. Keeping that weapon running is priority 1 in a fight.

    Thank you, that’s why even if open carry were allowed in Texas, I don’t think I would do it. Not worth it. I think MOST people do it as a political statement, or to make a point. I don’t think it offers enough tactical advantage though.
