I’m back! My podcast vacation is over and I’m introducing a new episode format. Also, Rob Morse from the Self Defense Gun Stories podcasts, contributed some excellent information and also Andrew Branca, with the Law of Self Defense, self defense case of the week. Finally, I’ve included a modern survival and prepping segment in this episode.
This week I give an initial review of my Shield 2.0. Also, I answer a listener voice mail about making the first hit and also a little information on safeties and using guns in a safe way.
This week I answer listener voice mails regarding S&W Shield problems, preparing for a self defense situation and then discuss evaluating and standardizing your concealed carry gear.

This episode was the hardest one for me to record in the history of this show. But I got through it. I talked about my recent experience working with some new shooters and about the shooting at the baseball field in Washington D.C. I also briefly discuss some modifications I made to my S&W Shield pistol.
I recently had a chance to shoot the M&P 2.0 and Beretta APX and I give a review on both. Also, this episode contains a little information on the tragic death of Bob Owens from Bearing Arms and my red dot pistol test.
Small guns are so popular these days. For me, not for primary carry, but certainly for back up guns. So this week I review the S&W M&P Shield, Walther PPS M2, Glock 43, S&W 642 Performance Center, Ruger LCP II and Kahr P380. More to come in the near future.
Just how fast of a shooter do you have to be? It depends on the mission obviously. Ben Branam and John Edeen discuss this with in this episode.

S&W M&P 2.0
This week I review my S&W M&P9 full size after a range session. Then I discuss the fundamentals I practiced earlier in the week. Also, a little bit about the shooting in Oregon.

A listener recently emailed me some excellent thoughts about how the gun culture talks about the accuracy of guns. I’ll share that email and my thoughts. I also discuss an “incident” that recently happened to me. Was it a close call?
Single stack, slim 9mm pistols that are pocketable seem to be the most popular self defense pistols on the market today. I own 2 very nice guns, the Kahr PM9 and the Shield 9mm. Both are superb. But Jon Payne and I have a difference of opinion as to which is best. So we analyze both of these little guns and also talk about open carry.

Finally, I conclude my thoughts on my 1911 vs. Stiker fired gun analysis. Also, some listeners called in a couple of interesting voice mails.
A listener asked the question, “what makes one gun better than another?” I thought that would make an excellent topic for this episode and might even help you make a decision on a gun purchase during the Christmas season.
Recently I went to range for a practice session. I shot several different guns and about 450 rounds of practice. So this episode is about my experiences during that practice session. Also, a listener called in about appendix carry.
