I got together with Ben Branam to discuss the risks and rewards of concealed carry. We discussed concealed carry methods, range practice, safety rules, real life self defense gunfights and more. This show is released early due to the large number of voice mails I’ve received from listeners. So I will be releasing the voice mail podcast next Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast.

Everyone’s concealed carry situation is different. So I decided to talk about carrying whatever gun you can get away with. This episode is primarily inspired by a thread on the GRRN forum, in my subforum. What gun is enough gun? What can you carry in your particular situation? There are advantages and disadvantages to every gun and every gun is a compromise of some sort. Do you need more than one gun? Also, I received some EXCELLENT voice mails regarding the aftermath of a self defense shooting, campus concealed carry, and slide stop levers, so I answer those as well. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast.

This episode, Ben and Bob discuss their experience at an IDPA classifier and further discuss the subject of vehicle carry. Also, some listeners called in some voice mails regarding appendix carry, Kahr’s recommendation of using the slide release to chamber a new round and concealed carry on campus. Do you carry a gun in your vehicle? In some states it’s legal, yet laws differ from state to state. In some states it’s not legal. But for those of you who can carry a gun in your vehicle, you’ll find this podcast a collection of ideas you may want to try. Keep in mind, this is what works for me. Depending on what kind of vehicle you drive makes a huge difference. But there are definitely some vehicle carry methods I don’t like, so I talk about those as well. Also, this podcast includes an excellent voice mail from a listener in Sanford, Florida. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast

A recent shooting at a college in California has sparked more controversy about whether students at universities should be able to carry concealed handguns for self defense. I think they should be allowed to. So this episode is based on an excellent article in Guns and Ammo magazine about the subject of concealed carry on campus. I will of course provide a link to that article on the GRRN forum. The first half of this episode is about listener voice mails on open carry, Kahr pistols, IDPA and Ben Branam’s international incident that almost happened. I need to correct some statements I’ve made in previous podcasts about the Trayvon Martin case and selecting a handgun. Also, a couple of listeners called in some voice mails and I want to congratulate the first winner in my SCP contest. So this is a short episode, not really a full podcast episode, but nonetheless, some worthwhile content. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast

This show is about anti gun people and the arguments they use against people who wish to carry a gun for self defense. Have you ever spoken to an anti gun person who just doesn’t get it? In this episode I discuss the 2nd amendment in detail. I discuss what it actually means, how and why it was written and how it still applies today. If you find yourself in a discussion with an anti gun person, you may find some good ideas in this episode to help you have a persuasive and intelligent discussion about the 2nd amendment and the right to carry a firearm for self defense. This is based on the article, “Top Five Baseless and Subversive Arguments Against the Second Amendment” by Michael Chapdelaine. A link directly to the article can be found on the GRRN forum. This will be the last episode of this year, the next one will be Jan 2, 2011. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show

There’s a new shooting sport evolving rapidly. The Lone Star Shooting Association founded by Gary Burris and Dale Hunnicut. In this episode I interviewed Gary Burris the founder. I like their mission, to raise money for Gun Rights organizations. I also like their scoring system and the way they classify the different types of shooters. Gary was also a speaker at the Gun Rights Policy Conference about international gun laws and policies. You will be interested to hear what he has to say about the UN’s attempt at gun control. Eric Shelton, former host of the Handgun Podcast is my guest host for this episode. I decided to take a little time off and asked Eric to jump in and fill in for me and he did a terrific job, as I knew he would. He discusses topics such as the NRA and other gun rights organizations, an update on his status and what’s in the future for him, and also concealed carry handguns. As always, Eric provides thought provoking and useful information for all firearms enthusiasts and concealed carry advocates. I miss his podcast, but also understand how life takes twists and turns. So I think you’ll enjoy this treat as much as I have. Thank you Eric for helping me out and best of luck in all that you do. Don’t miss this episode. I’m taking 2 weeks off right now to get a few things done at work. Next week, you will hear a cool interview that’s already recorded and I will be back on November 14, 2011 with coverage of Suarez International’s, Advanced Close Range Gunfighting course. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show.

This is part 2 of the audio from Mark Vanderburg’s hotel room after the Gun Rights Policy Conference in the anti gun city of Chicago, a few weeks ago. Eric Shelton (former host of The Handgun Podcast) Gail Pepin of the Pro Arms Podcast, Mark Vanderberg, host of the Gun Rights Radio Network, Larry Peikarski and Matt and Shane (2 loyal GRRN listeners) and ME, entertain you with a recap of the Gun Rights Policay conference, in our own words. Tune in for a lot of fun and some thoughtful discussion on the gun rights issue and….what about the Litigation Gorilla? (at the end of the show.) Tell me what you think. Is Alan Gura the litigation gorilla? I think he is, you be the judge. Next week, I guarantee I will cover lots of listener emails and questions. Audio from the Gun Rights Policy Conference held in Chicago Sept. 24th and 25th. I interviewed a few listeners and bloggers that share some valuable insights. You’ll also hear speeches from the KnifeRights.org group including Doug Ritter and Tom Gresham. I also include some audio from a group podcast that was held with quite a few GRRN podcasters including Eric Shelton from Handgun Podcast, Gail Pepin from The Pro Arms Podcast, Larry Piekarski from the Gun Rights News Podcast, Mark Vanderberg head of the Gun Rights Radio Network and Bar Stool Discussion, and Me. We also had a couple of faithful listeners that contributed to the group discussion. WARNING! The group podcast was recorded while we were having “fun” and letting it loose after the conference activities on Saturday! Since this is the 2nd podcast of this week, I will NOT be posting a show next week. So the next show will be Monday, Oct. 10th, 2011. I’m going to take a little time off. Please keep the comments coming in emails and audio format. I will get caught up on the next show. Please join the GRRN forum and the 2nd Amendment Foundation! Links can be found on the GRRN forum. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Show
