CR Williams is my guest on this episode. He’s recently written a book about gunfighting. We discussed some excellent topics such as the emotional orientation to a gunfight, actual techniques such as the draw stroke, use of the long gun in self defense, why having a John Wayne attitude isn’t all bad, what they’re not telling you about point shooting, fighting inside of your house, long range shooting with a handgun, dry fire practice and whether or not you can buy accuracy! In other words, is accuracy king?

With the big election coming up, I decided to do a topic I rarely discuss…politics. Mark Vanderberg, executive producer of the Gun Rights Radio Network is my first guest to talk about voting and how the election can affect right gun rights. Then Jon Payne joins me to discuss marksmanship with a handgun and some steps you can take to improve your accuracy.  Thanks for listening.

Once in awhile, I feel it’s important to remember how important it is to get back to basics. This episode is a review of the basics of concealed carry, competition and handgun shooting. I will discuss trigger control, caliber, stopping power, mindset and an analysis of your concealed carry system. I also received some voice mails from listeners, that I discuss in the beginning of this episode. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast.

Sometimes a person who was anti gun, totally changes their outlook on firearms and actually becomes an avid shooter, concealed carrier and 2nd amendment advocate. On the way to MAG 40 recently I interviewed my friend Mark. He’s one of my shooting buddies and he also traveled with me and trained with me. He used to be anti gun. You’ll hear his story. I also interview Boyd Lemon, owner oh a company called Hillbilly223. He does awesome custom finishes on guns! Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne

This episode is a guest interview with Paul Lathrop of the Politics and Guns podcast. I don’t normally discuss politics or have debates or discussions on political issues regarding the 2nd Amendment, but this one is a good one and I decided to make an exception. We discussed what should be required and what should not be required to own and carry a gun. This episode starts with listener voice mails. Thanks for downloading and listening.

1911 pistols have stood the test of time, no doubt. And it seems as though they are just as popular today, as they’ve ever been. Lately, they seem to be getting a bad rap, so this week, Jon Hodoway from Nighthawk Custom joins me to discuss 1911’s in general, and why they still remain an excellent concealed carry and combat pistol. We also spent some time discussing the recent mass shootings and what it means to those of us who carry a gun every day. Thank you for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, Handgunworld Podcast

Recent events lately have stirred up a lot of conversation about mass shootings. Thanks to a listener on Facebook, I’ve decided to change my terminology and call them active killers instead of active shooters. So Jack Rumbaugh is my guest to talk about recent events, how to prepare yourself for the unfortunate situation if you’re in an active killer situation. You and I are shooters, the people who commit these heinous acts are killers, plain and simple. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne

Active shooter situations like the recent Aurora Colorado movie theater shooting and the recent shooting at the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin seem to really make people stop and think about their safety and how they plan to keep themselves safe. They almost always lead to more gun sales and more ammo sales. The main topic of this episode is a discussion of how the shooting in Colorado has changed my outlook on concealed carry, training and self defense. How has it changed you? This episode also begins with some listener voice mails. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast

What will you do if you have to fight to your handgun? It seems like a lot of people train to fight with their handgun, but what if your attackers are trying to prevent you from accessing your handgun? Do you know how to handle that? In this episode I discuss that subject with a review of some training. Also, Alan from Utah, a listener sent me a pretty good voice mail about 2nd Amendment issues and a Wilderness Tactical SafePacker. Several listeners called in some excellent voice mails on topics such as point shooting, short triggers, the rules of engagement and training classes. Also, this episode starts with a detailed announcement of my new position with Suarez International. This is a middle of the week podcast, which is not normal for me, but when I get a backlog of voice mails, I think it’s important to get them on the air and addressed. Ben and I discuss the proper way to clear a weapon. A lot of people commit a lot of safety violations when doing so, especially new shooters. We discuss some bad habits that can form when learning to clear a weapon. Then we transition to selecting a good magazine and how to maintian magazines and which ones are good or bad. Finally at the request of a listener, we discuss our favorite less lethal self defense items, mainly flashlights. This episode starts out with a voice mail from Paul Lathrop of the Politics and Guns Podcast. Thanks for downloading and listening. Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast

Massad Ayoob is my guest on this episode. I’m releasing this early because I have a lot of material from MAG 40 and another trainer to put out over the next couple weeks. I recently attended his MAG 40 class in Arkansas. It was awesome! I interviewed him about concealed carry for the hearing impaired, whether CCW’ers have a duty to protect others and female agressors. Also, I interviewed some fellow students from the course and Jon Hodway, one of the instructors. This episode starts with a voice mail from a listener regarding how to choose a concealed carry firearm. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast.

Voice mails and stories from listeners just keep coming in and I really appreciate it. So this week’s topics are on lifelong shooters, training, government gun takeaways, gun safety and handling, fully automatic weapons and a special story from a listener who had a violent incident happen near his home. I’m at MAG 40 this weekend and will have a lot of excellent audio to podcast about next week. Thanks for downloading and listening, Bob Mayne, HandgunWorld Podcast
